Short story: Never to stay alone

Although I dislike being at home alone, I was alone one evening a mouth ago as my parents had been invited to a marriage party. Since I had to do some revision, I wasn’t able to go with them. As soon as my parents had gone out, I went to my bedroom. Then I got my books out of my briefcase and made myself comfortable. I was doing my homework when, all of sudden, I heard a laud noise in the kitchen. I was so frightened that I dropped my pen. My heart beat faster and faster. I was puzzled and wondered what had made such a noise. Thinking that a burglar might have broken into the house, I was panic-stricken. If there had been a cell phone, I had phoned to my neighbours. How I wishes I had gone to the boring marriage party with my parents. As first, I was too scared to leave my room, even though I wanted to find out what had caused the noise. I tried to calm down and to listen carefully, but I didn’t hear anymore noise, everywhere has silent. In the end, I managed to leave the room. It wasn’t easy to do it. I crept towards the kitchen so as not to make a noise in case I didn’t want to let the burglar know I’m coming. I opened the kitchen door quietly and there, to my surprise, I discovered our neighbour’s cat. I had no idea how it had got into the kitchen, but it had knocked a bowl of milk off the table and it was still busy licking up the milk on the floor. I felt so relieved that I laughed and laughed. I needn’t have been afraid after all. When my parents had came back from the party, I told them what had happened, they made fun of me. After this frightened experience, I have decided never to stay at home alone again, never.
